POSITION SUMMARY
Cincinnati-based Doran Manufacturing, a commercial transportation maintenance technology and safety products company, will be adding a full-time Machine Setup/Operator role to join the production and assembly team. The Machine Setup/Operator will be responsible for completing automated assembly work and performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance on automated equipment.  The person will be responsible for their quality and productivity levels. The person in this role must have high mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose problems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
– The Machine Set-up/Operator will be responsible for completing the assigned production jobs that are processed through automated equipment
– Follow the established automated production processes, job packets and blue prints
– Perform troubleshooting and scheduled maintenance work by hand and/or with tools
– Quality inspections and testing
– Productivity and quality must meet or exceed standards and expectations
– Proper components and paperwork (prints and production packets) will be present at the machine
– Machine set up will be performed as needed and the Setup Operator will insure that all safety guards are in place and functioning properly
– The person in this job will also be responsible for performing riveting, staking work with press machines for terminal board jobs
– All equipment must be maintained and ready to perform to satisfy our customers’ orders
– The person will also provide assistance with shipping and warehouse jobs, as needed
– The Set-up Operator should always be looking for ways to improve equipment and the productivity output of each machine
– Develop experience and knowledge of Doran’s products

SKILLS
– Must be able to think independently, but work as a part of a team
– Must be able to take instructions, follow directions and must focus on quality
– Must be able to read packet instructions and perform simple math problems
– Must have good communication skills and be able to work in a team environment
– Can diagnose a problem on a machine and repair it in a timely manner
– Detailed oriented and possess simple mathematical skills with the ability to read

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Prior automated assembly work is a plus
– Knowledge of PLC and pneumatics is a plus
– Ability to understand simple drawing and/or blueprints is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
– Be able to lift 25-40 pounds; Good dexterity; Good eyesight, corrective lenses are acceptable

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
– Location: 2851 Massachusetts Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA 45225
– Schedule: 40 hours per week – Monday through Friday with available flex time

– Education Required: high school graduate or G.E.D.
